These terms apply to every order placed with PlateBoss, online at plateboss.co.uk, by phone or WhatsApp, or in person at our Hounslow workshop. They also cover your use of our website. Please read them before you order. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
1. About us
1.1 PlateBoss is a trading name of Homee Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11852529).
1.2 Registered office: Freehold Industrial Centre Unit 5, Amberley Way, Hounslow, Middlesex, England, TW4 6BX.
Workshop and collection point: Suite 1, Unit 5, The Freehold Centre, Amberley Way, Hounslow TW4 6BX.
1.3 We are a DVLA Registered Number Plate Supplier (RNPS).
1.4 Contact us by email at info@plateboss.co.uk, or by phone or WhatsApp on 0203 733 2494. We aim to reply to emails and messages within one working day (Monday to Friday).
2. Your order and our contract with you
2.1 When you place an order we’ll email you an order confirmation. Our contract with you starts when we send that confirmation.
2.2 We make road-legal number plates for a registration you’re entitled to display. We do not sell registration numbers (private plates).
2.3 We may refuse or cancel an order if we can’t verify your documents (see section 3), if we believe the plate wouldn’t be legal to display, or if a product was clearly mispriced (see section 7). If we cancel, we’ll refund everything you’ve paid.
3. Documents we must see
3.1 By law (the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001), as a Registered Number Plate Supplier we must see proof of your identity and proof that you’re entitled to the registration before we supply road-legal plates. We must also keep a record of the sale for three years.
3.2 You’ll need one proof of identity (for example a driving licence, passport or bank card) and one proof of entitlement (for example a V5C logbook, V5C/2 new keeper slip, V750, V778, V11, V948/eV948, or a letter of authorisation from a lease or fleet company). The full list is on our Valid Documents page.
3.3 We must see the original documents. You can post them to us by tracked post (we’ll return them with your plates), or bring them when you collect. Documents that are only ever issued digitally, such as an eV948 or a paperless bank statement, can be emailed as the file you received.
3.4 We can’t dispatch or hand over plates until we’ve checked your documents. Delivery times in section 5 start from when we have them.
4. Our products
4.1 We make your plates exactly as you enter them. Please check your registration, spacing, plate size, style, badges and borders before you place your order. We can’t accept responsibility for mistakes in the details you give us.
4.2 Photos and the plate preview on our website are illustrations. The finished plate may look slightly different, for example because of screen colour settings.
4.3 Please make sure the plate size and shape you choose fits your vehicle and is legal for it. If you’re unsure, contact us before you order.
4.4 All our plates are made to the British Standard BS AU 145e, and are marked with the standard, our supplier name PlateBoss.co.uk and our postcode TW4 6BX, as the law requires.
4.5 We will only make plates that are legal to display on the road. We may adjust character spacing to meet the legal requirements, and we won’t make plates with altered or mis-spaced characters. We only print a green flash on plates for zero-emission vehicles.
4.6 Showing a plate that doesn’t meet the law can lead to a fine of up to £1,000, an MOT failure and, in some cases, the DVLA withdrawing the registration. You’re responsible for how the plates are fitted and displayed on your vehicle.
5. Delivery and collection
5.1 We deliver within the UK only. Your options at checkout are:
- Royal Mail Tracked 48: free.
- Royal Mail Tracked 24: £5.00.
- Collect from our Hounslow workshop: free.
5.2 Orders placed before 2pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) are usually dispatched the same working day, as long as we’ve seen your documents by then. Orders placed after 2pm, or at the weekend or on a bank holiday, are usually dispatched on the next working day.
5.3 Royal Mail delivery times are estimates, not guarantees, and Royal Mail doesn’t guarantee Saturday delivery. When your order is dispatched we’ll email you the tracking number.
5.4 Please check your delivery address carefully. If an order is returned to us because the address was wrong or incomplete, or because it wasn’t collected from Royal Mail, we can re-send it once you’ve paid the postage.
5.5 If your order hasn’t arrived, please tell us. Royal Mail treats a tracked item as lost 14 days after dispatch. We’ll raise a claim with Royal Mail and, once it confirms the loss, remake and re-send your order at no cost, or refund you.
5.6 For collection orders, we’ll let you know when your plates are ready. Please bring your original documents (see section 3).
6. Cancelling or changing your order
6.1 Number plates are made to your personal specification, so the usual 14-day cancellation (cooling-off) period for online orders does not apply (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 28(1)(b)).
6.2 If you need to change or cancel your order, contact us as soon as possible. If we haven’t started making your plates, we’ll make the change or cancel your order with a full refund.
6.3 Once your registration has been printed, your plates are bespoke and we can’t refund them. We may, at our discretion, refund delivery charges, accessories and fitting kits that haven’t been sent.
6.4 Accessories that aren’t personalised, such as adhesive pads or plate surrounds, can be cancelled within 14 days of delivery if unused and returned in their original condition. You pay the return postage.
7. Price and payment
7.1 Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. The price you pay is the one shown when you placed your order.
7.2 You pay in full for your order at checkout. We accept debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna online (processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details), and card payments in store.
7.3 If you pay with Klarna, your agreement with Klarna is separate and covered by Klarna’s own terms.
7.4 Discount codes can only be used once per order, can’t be exchanged for cash and can’t be applied after an order has been placed.
7.5 If a product is clearly mispriced by mistake, we’ll contact you before your order goes ahead. You can then choose to pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
8. Faulty, damaged or incorrect plates
8.1 Every order is quality-checked before it leaves us.
8.2 If your order arrives damaged, faulty or not as you ordered, please email info@plateboss.co.uk as soon as possible, ideally within 24 hours of delivery. Include your order number and photos showing the problem and the quality control label. Reporting quickly helps us resolve things fast.
8.3 If there’s a fault or damage that’s our responsibility, or we made the plate differently from what you ordered, we’ll remake and re-send it free of charge. If we can’t, we’ll refund you.
8.4 This doesn’t affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
9. Our 3-year warranty
9.1 Our plates come with a 3-year warranty from the date of your order. It’s in addition to your legal rights.
9.2 The warranty covers plates that, through normal use:
- fade; or
- have letters or numbers that come off by themselves; or
- have a manufacturing fault in the plate, such as delamination.
9.3 The warranty does not cover:
- plates that have had holes drilled in them. Drilling the plate voids the warranty;
- damage caused by an accident or impact;
- criminal damage, vandalism or attempted theft;
- damage from fitting or removal, or from harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning or pressure washing at close range;
- any other damage that isn’t caused by a manufacturing fault.
9.4 How to claim: email info@plateboss.co.uk with your order number and clear photos of the plate and the problem. We may ask to see the plate.
9.5 If your claim is accepted, we’ll replace the plate with the same product, or the closest available product if it’s no longer made. You’ll still need to provide valid documents (section 3) for the replacement, because the law requires it.
10. Our responsibility to you
10.1 If we don’t keep to these terms, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
10.2 We don’t exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for breach of your legal rights as a consumer.
10.3 We supply our products for domestic and private use. If you buy as a business, we aren’t liable for loss of profit, business or opportunity.

14. Other important terms
14.1 We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones shown on our website when you placed it.
14.2 If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest will still apply.
14.3 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
