Single Bevelled Number Plate (Front or Rear)

Bevelled plates, often called retro plates, have raised characters with an angled edge that catches the light. The look nods to the pressed metal plates on classic cars, but it works just as well on a modern car. It’s our best-selling style.

This listing is for one bevelled plate. Choose it when one of your retro plates has been damaged or stolen, or you only need a new plate on one side.

Keeping your plates matched

Bevelled characters look very different from flat printed ones, so a single retro plate works best when your other plate is retro too. If it isn’t, you’ll probably want a matching set: see our bevelled number plates (pair).

Sizes

Standard (520 x 111mm), short and hex for shorter registrations, and for rear plates, oversized (533 x 152mm) and 4×4 (280 x 200mm). Non-standard sizes add £10.

Road legal by design

Raised and bevelled characters are allowed on UK plates as long as the plate meets BS AU 145e, uses the correct font and spacing, and is marked with the supplier’s details. We’re a DVLA-registered supplier, so we’ll check your ID and proof of entitlement before making it, exactly as we do for pairs.

Delivery and collection

Place your order before 2pm and we’ll dispatch the same working day once your documents are in. Free Royal Mail Tracked 48 is included, with Tracked 24 at checkout. You can also collect from our Hounslow office and have it fitted while you wait.

Questions

Is a bevelled plate MOT legal?
Yes, when it’s made to the British Standard by a registered supplier, with legal spacing. Ours are.

What’s the difference between retro and bevelled?
They’re the same finish. “Retro” describes the look, “bevelled” describes the angled edge on each character.
