Are Your Replacement Number Plates Legal?
Yes — provided they are manufactured by a DVLA-registered supplier to the correct legal standard. When you order replacement plates, the new plates must comply with all current DVLA regulations including correct Charles Wright font, legal character sizing and spacing, reflective white front and yellow rear backgrounds, and BS AU 145e compliant materials for plates made after September 2021.
You cannot simply buy number plates without providing proof of identity and proof of entitlement to the registration. What Counts as a Reason to Replace Your Plates?

Do I need documents to order replacement number plates?
Yes — this is a legal requirement for all number plate suppliers in the UK. You need proof of identity and proof of entitlement to the registration. Acceptable documents include a V5C logbook, new keeper supplement, or certificate of entitlement for a personalised registration, plus a form of photo ID. Can I upgrade my replacement plates to a premium style?
How quickly can I get replacement number plates?
Orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same day via free tracked Royal Mail 48-hour delivery. You can upgrade to tracked 24-hour for £5. If you need plates the same day, visit our Hounslow store — most replacement plates are ready within 15 minutes of documents being verified.
My plates failed an MOT — can you help?
Yes — plates that fail an MOT for legibility, fading, cracking, or non-compliant materials can be replaced with a fresh road legal set the same day. If you're in the Hounslow area, come in and we'll have you back on the road quickly. If you're ordering online, same-day dispatch is available before 2pm.
Can I get replacement plates if my plates were stolen?
Yes. Stolen plates are one of the most common reasons for ordering replacements. You will still need to provide the correct documentation — your V5C or V5C/2, plus photo ID. What size are replacement number plates?
Standard UK number plates are 520mm x 111mm for the front and rear on most cars. If your vehicle takes a different size — for example a motorcycle, van, or imported vehicle — we can accommodate non-standard sizes. If you want a shorter plate to suit a private registration, our short number plates option is available as an upgrade.

Yes — every plate comes with a three-year warranty. If anything fails under normal conditions we replace it without question.
